Adopt a Day at The Upper Room

The Upper Room provides one hot meal everyday of the week to those in need. The daily operations are run completely by volunteers. After eight years of providing meals to those in need in El Dorado County, the Upper Room is having its first fundraiser. The cost of providing one hot meal everyday to those in need averages $1050 every week. This includes any food that needs to be purchased, equipment repair and replacement, utility costs and paper goods for serving the meals, and a host of other items needed to make The Upper Room a continued resource to El Dorado County.

The Upper Room is offering a way for families, religious groups, local businesses and foundations to help provide this crucial service to residents in our community.

Your family or group can "adopt" a day of nourishment by giving a tax-deductible donation of $150 to the Upper Room. You may choose a specific date that may have special meaning; for example, a birthday, anniversary, memoriam, etc.

To acknowledge your generosity, the Upper Room will list donors on our web page and in The Mountain Democrat.
