These pictures were taken at our Youth Group's weekend at the fairgrounds, where we participated in the American Cancer Society's 24 hour relay. We joined forces with the youth group from Holy Trinity and had a great time.
The name of our team was "Faithworks" and our theme was "Safari Find a Cure". We decorated our site like a jungle safari and sold cancer pins and animal hats for additional money to contribute to the event. Each person signed up for a certain time slot in which they walked around a course, and this was a continuous walk from 10 am on Saturday until 10 am on Sunday. At night, the course was lined with luminarias decorated with the names of loved ones who had passed away from cancer, as well as the names of cancer survivors.
We would like to thank Albertsons, Safeway, Bel Air Market, and Straw Hat Pizza for donating food for our team, and we encourage our parishioners to support them. We would also like to thank Tim Rumery and Holy Trinity Youth Group for allowing us to join them and form one Catholic Youth Group, one body of Christ supporting others in need.
